Abstract
The electrochemical reduction behaviour of 2-[2-(azocan-1-yl) ethyl] guanidine (Guanethidine) has been studied in different supporting electrolytes (HClO4, HCl, H2SO4) in DMF water mixtures by employing D.C polarography, controlled potential electrolysis and millicoulometry. The kinetic parameters such as diffusion coefficient(D) and heterogeneous forward rate constant (k° f, h) values were evaluated and reported. A reduction mechanism is proposed in consistency with the data obtained.
